In creating "Silent cycle, " my aim is simple yet profound: to shine a light on the hushed topic of period taboos. This film is a heartfelt exploration, inspired by real-life stories, including my own experiences and those of women I know.

 

Growing up, I questioned my mom's rules during my period, wondering why certain things were off-limits. These moments of confusion stayed with me, sparking a desire to challenge the secrecy surrounding menstruation. I'm fortunate to be educated about menstrual

hygiene, but I know many women in my country still use the old cloth. This film is about bringing these stories to the forefront and challenging the narratives that perpetuate shame and ignorance.

The film seeks to create a safe space for open dialogue. I want viewers to question their beliefs, especially concerning the impact on young girls navigating their coming-of-age journey.The film revolves around intergenerational communication, exploring how cultural traditions shape our perceptions. Through the eyes of characters like Vrinda and her grandmother, Lata, we aim to emphasize empathy, compassion, and breaking free from inherited beliefs.

As a director, my goal is simple: to create a visually engaging and emotionally resonant film that contributes to breaking the silence around menstruation. This film is more than just a project; it's a heartfelt plea to break the silent cycle of shame that women often go through. "Silent cycle” is my small contribution to fostering understanding and inclusivity.
